Licensing

Licensing is intended to remain simple, transparent, and respectful of long-lived industrial installations.

Licensing philosophy

DA Synergie intends to keep licensing straightforward and affordable. The goal is to avoid unnecessary subscriptions, support fair hardware replacement, and respect the long lifecycle of industrial systems.

Evaluation licenses

Evaluation licenses may be made available to allow qualified customers to review software in a controlled environment before making a commercial decision.

Commercial licenses

Commercial licenses will be issued according to the approved product lifecycle and activation policy. Customers will be expected to maintain a valid license for continued use. Refund and cancellation rules for website purchases, including treatment of unused versus already-issued licences, are set out in the Terms of Service.

Computer ID activation

License activation will rely on a Computer ID or comparable machine identification process that is practical for both local and supervised installations.

Offline activation

Offline activation may be supported where required by industrial environments with limited or restricted connectivity.

Machine replacement / licence rehosting

DA Synergie commercial licences are associated with the computer's Machine ID (or equivalent machine binding).

Reissue means regenerating or downloading the licence file again for the same Machine ID. It regenerates the licence file for that machine and does not move the purchased licence seat.

Rehost means transferring the purchased licence seat to a different Machine ID / computer.

Each purchased-seat lineage includes one normal rehost during a rolling 12-month period.

Additional rehost requests during that period may be submitted for review and require DA Synergie administrative approval. An approved exceptional rehost does not reset or restart the normal rolling 12-month period.

After the current 12-month period ends, the normal rehost allowance becomes available again for that lineage.

Offline limitation: an already-issued offline licence file present on an old machine cannot be remotely or cryptographically invalidated merely because the licence was rehosted. Rehosting updates DA Synergie's authoritative active machine binding and future support rights; it does not claim online revocation of a previously issued offline file.

Hardware replacement

Fair support for hardware replacement and migration is part of the licensing approach, with the goal of minimizing avoidable disruption. See Machine replacement / licence rehosting.

License transfer

License transfer procedures support legitimate equipment changes through the documented rehost process. Exceptional transfers during a restricted period require DA Synergie review and are not automatically approved. Approved exceptions do not reset the normal 12-month rehost period.

Product updates

Updates and product maintenance will be communicated clearly so customers can plan for deployments and upgrades over time.

Product lifecycle

DA Synergie intends to support products over a practical lifecycle appropriate to industrial customers and long-term maintenance requirements.

Customer responsibilities

Customers are responsible for using the software in accordance with the license terms, maintaining access to supporting documentation, and validating any deployment before production use.
